She was loyal to her king and adored the kingdom she lived in. But that would all change one day. Her family did not live near the castle. They lived in a village far from the kingdom. The night before her arranged marriage, the village was attacked by a group of men who claimed to be the very knights who served the king.
Abigail watched as her family and betrothed were murdered. Though, the women survived and were captured. However, her mother didn't survive more than a few days due to the injuries she suffered from. Soon after, the group was split and Abigail was separated from her baby sister.
Eventually Abigail was able to escape in the middle of the night. Now she looked for her sister as well as trying to plan a way to kill every knight that worked for the king.

Many poor families with several mouths to feed often face a difficult choice in life. Sayuri's life was the product of one of those choices. It was done by the hands of her father. She never knew her mother. Sayuri learned later in childhood, from her older half siblings, that her father wanted nothing to do with his wife when he learned that she had demon blood in her veins, no matter how little it was. Sayuri always wondered if her father killed her instead of divorcing her but speaking of her mother was a forbidden topic. Surprisingly, he raised her in spite of her demonic blood and even demonic magic. Sayuri even shared the same "birth mark" as her mother. The years spent with her father and half siblings were not happy times. Her father struggled to find work that could support this many children. Many times they went without food or had very little to eat. Then came the day she thought would never happen. One of her siblings became sick from the lack of food. Rather than risk one of his children die, he decided to sell Sayuri. He ripped her from her bed in the middle of the night, after a late visit from the doctor. She was sold to a brothel. Thankfully, she was too young to do the same work as the other women. Though that didn't stop men from trying to buy a night with her. Over the years, Sayuri practiced many arts and trades and learned to control her magic. Although life in the brothel was rarely pleasant, she worked hard to be a customer's favorite. To her surprise, this would pay off. When the Madame reached the end of her life, Sayuri was named as the next Madame.

Sakura lived in a small village with her parents. She was still a small child when demons attacked their village and burned most of it to the ground, as well as killing some of the villagers. Her parents were among the deceased and with the village in a terrible state no one would take her in. But the people were very kind to her. Often sharing bits of their food and torn cloth to use for clothing or blankets.
Sakura lived her life the same way for years until demons came again. Unlike before, Sakura was taken by one of the surviving demons.
This time they were fighting each other and came too close to the village. One demon, she noticed, was trying to steer the fight away from the village before he became injured. He was left for dead until Sakura was brave enough to approach and help the demon. In return for her kindness, and after learning she had no family, the demon took her with him. She would become his pet, but also his companion on his journey for revenge.
