Memories Of The Past Vol. 2

The vampire, now alone in the Royal garden, sat there quietly. She had left him, as to not get in trouble for talking to the help for too long, so there he sit.  He raised his hand gently near his face to examine what had been placed between his fingers. His crimson eyes twinkled bright as he gaze down at his hand, and more specifically, the flower. The flower was different than the ones that remained in the tree, a bit brighter too.. His face remained near expressionless, but there was a wonder in his eyes that had not truly been there before.

She had no idea, the poor thing. He could tell she did not know of his true identity, yet he would be truly surprised if she had known who he was. Any time they had met, which that had only been once so far, did they meet with masks, as was the custom. The masks covered their faces, and they had others speak for them, so it was impossible that she would know. He had found her easily though, as her scent seemed to remain the same. She smelled of Jasmine.. Jasmine and Lavender. She opened up to him fairly easily, as he had overheard her speaking to herself about her arranged marriage to him, so finding her was far too easy.. but it was also something he happened to stumble upon. Alas, he preferred it this way, he could get to know his bride long before their wedding day. Of course, this was supposed to be forbidden, but so long as his elders and her brother did not find out, it did not matter.

For the first time in his life, he could see color.. She was different, so much so that in comparison to anyone he had ever met, they paled to her. The women in his village, while they feared him, they attempted to mate with him quite often. She was not a warrior by any means, but he liked that about her. She didn’t look or act like a brute.. Not at all like Kain did. She was a child, sure, but she was also more of a woman than any of those in his village had claimed to be.. Her ideas, her dreams, they made him wonder and attempt to see the world in a different light. Her innocence was something to behold.

All of this had only started because of her brother, Lucien. Lucien was the king of all the “Light Dwelling” Vampires, and yet their kind and proper ways had put them in trouble.. The war, it had nothing to do with him or his village up until he showed up. For if Lucien had never come to see his elders, then he would have never had the chance to meet her.. Angelica. Of course, The Elders leapt at the chance to make a deal with the poor fool, and his sister was the only thing he could truly offer. But now, things were changing and he was beginning to wonder. Would he really be able to go through killing her after the war was said and done with?..

A sigh escaped his lips before he brought the flower up to his nose. The flower, despite having it’s own sweet scent, held her scent too.. He had never thought he could feel anything towards anyone, but the more time he spent “surveying their defenses”, the more he felt.. For her.

He would lie to her again. He felt that he wanted to. Did she need to know that he was The Vorkalth, the one that she feared, even hated? He could continue to be this Leo, and remain close, talk to her.. he could see all the sides of her that he was not meant to see until after they had been married. He didn’t care, as long as she didn’t find out before then, he could continue to spend this time with her before she truly belonged to him.

Memories of The Past Vol.1

(Listen to this if you would like to better see the picture I paint for you.)

Angelica's Theme

The sun brightened the room with gentle notions that the day had begun. Angelica, found herself purple and blue hues adjusting to the beautiful morning glow. She sat up in her bed. She felt well rested, her bed much more comfortable than anything she had ever remembered sleeping on before. Of course, this had been much different compared to home..

As her eyes had adjusted to the bright sunlight, she had come to see her room in the beauty of the sun. Stunned was the only word to explain how she had felt. It had been far more beautiful in the day compared to the night, the only light to show it had been the flames of candles before. Everything around her had been her favorite color, Pink. Pink and whites and off whites to show the flow and delicacy of her favorite color had made her eyes brighten. Every marking and indentation had been carefully thought and put into place with her in mind. It had made her feel like a small doll in her own palace that young girls like herself would have loved when she was young.

Slipping out from the comforter and it’s soft sheets, she had placed her feet onto the ground and gazed went around her room, looking at every thing that had caught her eye. But just as she began to look at as much as her eyes could catch, one thing caught her eye. It was a grand mirror, one far larger than anyone she had seen before. As she made her way over to it, she watched herself in it’s reflection. She could see her entire body.. how strange.. There was jewels encrusted in the mirror, sparkling in the warmth of the sun.. She felt that this mirror could not have been hers, as it had been to grand even for her, a once princess, now turned Queen.

The Queen of Edonia had gazed upon herself, her fingers delicately touching her lips. Her hair had been slightly messy from her sleep, but her gown matched the rest of the room, that cheeky man.. This mirror had made her feel a tad more beautiful, as she truly never really wanted to see what she had looked like in the morrow, fearful that she may look hideous, and yet..

Her Lord had truly gone to great lengths to make this room for her.. he had shown to her before that he had truly not been the demon he had been made out to be, but this was.. only for her. Could it be possible that he did in fact care, and not only care, but possibly have feelings towards her in return? Did he truly care for his wife..?

She could recall at her fifteen years of age, when her beloved brother, Lucien, told her he had arranged for a marriage between herself and The “Vorkalth Le Malveillant”. She had been devastated, she had cried, begged, even pleaded with her brother to reconsider, but it was only then did he remind her of her duties to their kingdom. That had been fighting a losing war then, and this way, with the help of the dark ones, they could win.. She had no choice.

Now she had been residing in a castle that has been steadily growing in a distant land that her now husband conquered and claimed his own. It had only been a couple of years since that war had been won.. Her husband and lord, Vorkalth had been seeking her acceptance since then. He never touched her without her permission, despite their vows..

Things had been strange for them ever since the war. He knew that she had fallen in love with a man, a servant, that she used to only see within the blanket of the night. She also knew that he knew of this, and although she never knew his name, he had only treated her with kindness, even entertaining her wishes for adventure and acknowledging her every dream.. The war, once it was over though, it had been revealed that it was in fact he.. Vorkalth, that had come to see her in the blanket of the night. It was against the rules, and he broke them anyway for a chance to get to know a young princess that had caught his eye.. Now their conversations remained only answers to when he would speak, as she no longer knew how to speak with him..

Perhaps, this life with the most violent vampire known to history was not as it seemed.. Maybe she would know great happiness after all..
