BACKSTORY

Conceived after the creation of hell and subsequent banishment of his parents, Eddie lived a life of luxury as the prince of hell. As Lucifer and Lilith's first child, he was spoiled rotten and relentlessly adored by the populace. Not only as a prince but as the first hell born demon. Although he was a rebellious and mischievous child, he was quick to apologize if he ever crossed a line. The young heir to the throne loved to explore hell as if it was his own personal playground, often wandering into dangerous places. Eddie would find himself either in the slums of Pentagram City or climbing trees in the dense woods. He was always found be his attentive father, even being saved from the first overlords of hell. Lucifer and Lilith would try to curb his explorative and inquisitive nature. Lucifer taught him creativity and how to express his artistic side, finding inspiration in painting. Eddie's mother however taught him how to read, gifting him the Grand Grimoire for his tenth birthday. But the rug would finally be pulled underneath his feet, his dream world of no responsibilities came to an adrupt end. Lucifer and Lilith conceived another child, a baby girl named Charlie was born into the world. No longer the center of attention, Eddie made an attempt to be a good big brother. He took her everywhere he could when he was with her, just as happy pushing a stroller as he did exploring. Time would pass and Charlie would be come just as a handful as Eddie was as a young child. One day, while being tasked with watching Charlie. The now teenage Eddie would fall asleep reading her a story, resulting in her wandering from their home. Terrified that his baby sister would get into trouble or even worse, danger. He would track her down to the center of the city, waddling through traffic. After snatching her up before being hit by a car, the sky ripped open and winged beings tore through the sky. Eddie knew the winged creatures to be angels, like his father. The angels began massacring the citizens of Pentagram City, beginning what became known as the first extermination. Panicking, Eddie carried Charlie and tried to run back home. However he was intercepted by an angel resembling his father. This was an archangel called Michael, wielding a fiery sword. Michael tried to kill Charlie first, but Eddie threw her out of the way and confronted the archangel himself. Michael attempted to stab the young male, but Eddie disarmed the assailant and stabbed him with his own sword. The death of an archangel caused a massive explosion, causing a dimensional portal opening and Lucien was quickly sucked in to the vortex. Before he knew it he was transported into a desolate, empty world in complete darkness known as purgatory. This world was an endless forest filled dead trees and endless night. Eddie tried to find away out, but failed at every turn. With the aid of the Grimoire, Lucien was able to conjure a cabin with the power of the book. But despite having the powerful artifact, it did not help him escape. The prince of hell was seemingly trapped in purgatory forever. Unbeknownst to Eddie, the death of archangel caused god to wipe the memory of all the citizens of hell to forget Eddie even existed. To Lucifer, Lilith and Charlie. Eddie was nothing but a vague dream to them now. Due to prolonged isolation in purgatory, Eddie grew into a quiet and pessimistic young man that was a shadow of his former self. He maintained his sanity through writing in a journal and painting portaits of his family, whom he dearly missed. As time passed his writings become more erratic, the portraits become more distorted as his memory began to wither. As a coping mechanism, he created a persona to have a conversations with. This persona was dubbed Isaac, a manifestation of Eddie growing malice, bloodthirst and desire for revenge. Eddie would have conversations with Isaac, convincing himself he was a real person. But one day a portal would crack open, allowing a being cloaked in shadow to step through. The mysterious stranger offered the lost prince a deal, his soul for his freedom. In exchange he would have one year to collect the souls of hells most powerful overlords and return them to the stranger. He took his chance and exchanged his soul to return home, Lucien would instantly find himself back in a drastically changed Pentagram City. The city was celebrating the death of the Adam and victory of a failed extermination attempt. Lost, alone and not knowing where to go. Eddie would find himself approaching a rebuilt hotel. Perhaps he and "Isaac" would answers there, only time would tell.
