Her mother was talking to none other than Shoryu her uncle he explained to her about the trial before sending her off to the shinma realm.

In the shinma realm Yaya not only became stronger but she matured as the trial days went on  on the final day of the trial she end up facing another vampire who like her had bat wings but while Yaya fought to prove her self this other vampire was lost in bloodshed.Yaya emerged victorious and passed on to be a new guardian just like her  mother and grandmother.

LaTer on Yaya found out her opponent lived and was in fact her aunt Shoryu's sister although becoming rivals they got along for the most part.

As a guardian Yaya carries around a flute to guide the souls of humans who fell at the hands of shinmas into the land of eternal slumber  she also spends her time keeping her younger siblings in check.Because she is a guardian she is neither good nor evil and although war erupts arounds her entire family she cannot choose a side (doesnt mean she wont give reasonal help) this can be seen time and time again when her Mother sends her to check on the lands her demon side of the family owns and when she is doing work for Anju 's black market.

Long ago she was hurt by some one she thought she could trust, and Love, He tricked her into telling her family secret claiming he was the only who could understand her because he too was different than her, she was used,betrayed and tortured for countless days. They spent days analizing what she was it was a group of humans who wanted the world to see what monsters lived among them not knowing that Yaya was part of the reason the monsters they feared had not taken over when she thought everything was lost the compound she was being held at was attacked, weak as she was she took advantage of the comotion and escaped.

She never knew who saved her and had no desire to find out who did, she felt dirty and a traitor, she made her way home and was dreading telling her family what happened but when she got there no one had been home, Hours passed of her being alone with her thoughts and she decided that telling her family was not a good idea she knew how worried it would make them and what could happen she vow not to be the weak baby girl they usually saw her when she was growing up by the time she interacted again with her family she had put on a perfect mask not giving away she was not the same as she had been always.

Yaya behavior around every one family or not is different she could be cheerful as she could be cold, she trust no one not even family and more than often puts her self in danger as a means to see if she is strong or not, not caring if she looser her life in the process. Her sister Yuri seems to notice such things but never says or do anything to show it except respect and obey Yaya probably the only other sibling Yuri shows any signs of loving.

She soon met a Fae Prince of the Unseelie court named Sinha,they met while she was visiting the Fae lands to see if they should be allowed a Guardian representative in the next Trials or  so was her excuse in reality she was trying to find any information on her grandmother's old partner the Shinma Larva and his Mate Kanae.

Sinha became this pain in her rear that some how warmed his way to her heart or more like her bed  eventually it all turned into no work getting done because Sinha always Managed to drag her to his chambers, Soon she developed feelings for him but because of her past she feels confused of what they have or dont have
