“Weep and ask for help. Lean on me with your runny nose. Cry when you feel like crying. Laugh when you feel like laughing. When you’re tearing up with an ugly face, I’ll give you a good cry with an uglier face. When you’re laughing so hard your stomach hurts, I’ll laugh in a louder voice. That’s how it should be. It’s far better to get dirty while living true to yourself, than to throw away yourself and die a clean death.”
"Uwah! I don't want you to get hurt!" Chopper cried as he pulled back to look up at her eyes, his own eyes giving a stern glare toward her. "You'd better be strong! Really, really strong! Strong enough to avoid getting hurt and beat all the bad guys you come across or escape from them if you can't!" He warned, hoping to keep her motivated to avoid getting hurt or being in pain.
"E-Eh!? You'd keep me safe!?" Chopper gawked in amazement, his eyes sparkling with admiration for her bravery and devotion as he felt his heart throb excitedly. After a moment, his smile faded slightly as he thought deeper about it, allowing her head to rest against his own fluffy one. "Ah... but you're just a kid. I'd feel bad if you got hurt. Still, if you're sure about this... then I'll be sure to let you join my crew!"
Chopper smiled sheepishly once more at being coddled as she tended to do, silently enjoying her large hand against his head as he let a sigh escape him. "Do you really mean all that though? I mean... you worked so hard to be a hero and to be with me would be throwing a lot away..." He murmured, rubbing his head against her hand without thinking.
Chopper whined as he rubbed his forehead. He huffed and crossed his arms with a pout. "I just don't wanna ruin your life with all my criminal shenanigans! If in a year or two you still wanna try it with me... I might not say no!" He smiled sheepishly, turning his head away to obscure his blushing smile from her.
Chopper lifted his head to look up at her with a curious frown, gently placing his hooves onto her cheeks to push her head away and look her in the eyes for several seconds. "Hmm..." He thought in silence for a few seconds, seeming taken aback by her suggestion. "Maybe... but then again, you deserve better than some pirate. You're perfect!" He encouraged with a smile, happy to dismiss the idea he thought of for the two of them as quickly as it came. Tsuyu was a hero and he was a criminal after all.
Chopper sighed happily at all the love he got from this frog girl without ever having to prove himself or earn it. With a reddened smile on his blushing face, he closed his eyes and shook his head a few times. "You can call me Chopper-aniki!" He suggested with a smirk, hoping to get an adorable little sister out of this if nothing else.
As he was held, she was likely to notice that he weighed as much as his size would suggest. Heavier than most small dogs, but not quite as much as a full-grown beast such as a German Shepherd. The weight of a toddler was the best way to describe it. His brown fur was very warm and fluffy, and the body beneath it was soft, like a kitten’s own feel. Holding him likely filled her with the same sort of warmth and comfort.
"Uwah! I can't wait for us to play together! I hope you're tough enough to help me train too! Ah... but I can't bring myself to hit you so we can't spar!" He warned sternly before placing his hoof onto her head, stroking her in a soothing motion nonstop as his smile widened. "You're such a good frog!"
