In life, Angel Dust, back then named Anthony, was a gangster and member of a notorious Italian crime family based in NYC. Growing up, Angel was mentally abused by his father and brother and his mental health declined massively when he was drafted into the military during WWII, where he witnessed the horrors of war first hand. In 1947 Anthony died alone from phencyclidine (PCP) overdose, hence his namesake down in Hell.
