You gift humanity free will, and this is what they do with it.
The stories of Lucifer's great fall are all similar, yet different depending on which religion is telling. Either way, his name is cursed and feared by the majority of the universe. He is the face of evil incarnate, the king of lies and deception, a monster lurking in darkness. He is blamed for the voice in your head that drives you to sin, or act on selfish impulse. Oh, if they only knew the truth. Sure, it all started with an apple. Lucifer firmly believed in freedom and wanted humanity to experience it for themselves. He thought it was best to ask forgiveness than permission, and so he gave the first woman on Earth a sweet taste of free will. Lilith agreed with his dream, and so she left her first husband Adam to join him in his leap of faith. Together they convinced Adam's second wife Eve to take a bite out of the forbidden fruit. It seemed innocent enough, but Heaven saw their dreams as a threat and punished them greatly. The separation of freedom and order lead all of Heaven to war, but Lucifer and Lilith fought with everything they had to win a losing battle. In the end they were banished to Hell where they would be forced to exist with souls of the damned. Lucifer was stripped of his power to create wonderous things, which drove him to depression while Lilith thrived on the chaos Hell had to offer. She even began to form a civilization and empowered damned souls to live freely as intended. Lucifer supported her leadership, but the more he watched sinners and demons the less inspired he felt. All because of that ridiculous apple and the suggestion of freedom, humanity had turned into monsters who deserved the suffering they were faced with after death.
New Beginnings
Despite losing his power to create, Lucifer managed to create something he was more proud of than the stars themselves. A little girl was born that he and he wife Lilith decided to name Charlotte, who would later don the name of "Charlie". She was perfect in every way and held the power of both her parents combined. As time went on Lucifer became more buried in his work while Lilith kept their daughter out of trouble. His solitude drove him to depression, making it hard for him to focus. Out of desperation to feel something other than loneliness and misery the king of hell resorted to desperately trying to distract himself with the joy of creation. He always loved using his power to make something new, but with his powers limited after his fall he could only resort to inanimate objects. He gained a fascination with rubber ducks. Charlie seemed to love them, so he made more and more not realizing how time had passed. Eventually his wife left him followed by his daughter leaving to pursue her own dreams. The palace he lived in was empty, and once again he began to spiral.
Present Day
Contrary to popular belief, Lucifer never approved of the exterminations, nor did Lilith. However, Heaven, specifically Adam, was determined to continue with their plans. They feared the rising civilization of demons would lead to a war between Heaven and Hell. Maybe they were right, but they certainly didn't approach it democratically. For ten-thousand years the exterminations would come and go. Lucifer wanted nothing more than to stop them, but they had made a deal. Hell born citizens, including his daughter, would be spared from the attacks as long and he and Lilith didn't fight back. No one understood why he would allow the exterminations and assumed he was either lazy or simply didn't care about his people. He didn't want to have to explain himself, and so he remained quiet and locked himself away once again. If Charlie knew the truth she would surely get involved, right? Well, in ultimately that didn't matter. She involved herself anyway by creating a hotel with a dream to rehabilitate sinners into getting a ticket to heaven. The whole idea was absurd, but from within his prison of a home Lucifer didn't bother her. Not until she requested his help. With his daughter back in his life, Lucifer was able to fight off his depression to support her and even fight for her when Adam brought an army to her front door. With the exterminations at an end, Lucifer has decided it's time to step up and better involve himself in Hell's ventures.

"HA HA HA!" A short mocking laughter rang from his lips, before he placed his microphone down in front of him, leaning on it as he leaned closer to the short King. "I'm afraid I'm going to have to /respectfully/ disagree~ I don't feel the hotel needs a change, as the facility manager. And I couldn't possibly allow a guest to do all the work! So the only one who needs a /long/ vacation, is /you/ Your Majesty~"
---- I had an idea that while his rivalry and bantering with Lucifer seems all innocent enough. Even maybe adhering to Charlie's ridiculous activies to keep her suspiciousions down on his intent - Alastor will plot against Lucifer. Planning to have him become hurt or killed "accidentally" just so he isn't in the way of interfering with his plans to control and corrupt Charlie.
"Of course! You're welcome to stay as a guest, I'm sure~ In fact, I /insist/. No need for you to be putting in all the extra work, when we don't need it after all~" Arrogance radiated off him while he gazed down at the King. Confident in his words. ----
I think it would be a little entertaining and perhaps open up to some drama. If we were to pick up where season 1 left off. I'm sure Lucifer would have his hands in the goings on of the hotel much to Alastor's annoyance. So I feel opening this up with the their little power pull at the start of the grand re-opening of the Hazbin Hotel could be fun. Then of course we could take it into more of a dramatic turn, say with a revenge plot that nearly goes missed between the two of them. Leading to potential disaster that would force them to get along long enough to solve it.
