A Cat-Sith's tail (tale)

Little is known to the world about the cat sith. Unknown to what makes a cat-sith, there have been proven to be many theories and myths scattered upon their creation. A lost soul found itself to the body of a fallen cat, being reborn into such a creature. Perhaps these were cats born with magical gifts? Maybe they were created by witches, before their passing, in hopes to guard the next life of the poor witch in training and flourish their gift so they could survive the harsh world. What if you were told that they came from a forgotten unreachable by human kind?


Within the realms lost forests, deep within the depths of the forests resided lost souls that were drawn here. Here resided the land where the cat-like creatures known as cat sith resided. Often witches came to the realm seeking a guardian to aid them in their endeavors. However, one had to be careful when claiming one of the cat-sith as their guardian, as each one had their own identity and personality. Some could even feed off the desires of the witch’s soul. This could cause the cat-sith to betray them and take their soul, devouring and leave their soulless body to remain as their eternal puppet until it no longer served a purpose.


Lunar was quite the curious soul growing up. He grew up in the village, curious to explore the world outside him, learning more from the items that previous cat sidhe acquired when returning to the village. He lived the day to day regularly, but always felt like he was stuck and wanted to do more than live day to day in the realm. However, the rules dictate that he must be summoned and marked by a witch to gain his freedom from their land. Seeing some cats may never be chosen, this had been an issue for the cat sith. Witches became few and far in-between. More-so since there weren’t many who knew of the guardian lord of the cat-sith. One day, Lunar hoped to make his way out from the realm and be able to leave the village.


His chance came one day when an evil witch came to the village one day after finding out about the cat sith through one of the forbidden witch tomes she had been studying. She had been seeking one to aid her. Most of the ones who saw her hid, sensing the corrupt soul resonating from her body. However, Lunar knew this might be his only chance to leave the realm. He had to do anything to leave the realm. Being the only one to offer to be her guardian, she took what she could get, making a contract with the witch to be her guardian. His chance to leave the realm was upon him and he wouldn’t have to look back, seeing if he did, he could never find this chance to return to the other realm.


During his time with the witch was certainly an unpleasant one, going through all types of manner of problems. Either defending her from knights while she fled, capturing women to drain them of their youth, or even kill those who posed a threat to her. He did it all, knowing he wanted to remain in the world. It was only one day that there was a large group that rained down soldiers on them. He was injured during this, but took this opportunity to fake his death while they raided the witch’s lair. While she had an intense fight, he defeated a guard and took their armor, making his way to the witch’s lair as she was being defeated. She was severely injured and unable to fight back, the perfect time to take his freedom. When the guards let their guard down, he created a smokescreen and grabbed to wounded witch, vanishing with her from the lair. They were now gone, fates unknown.


When they were safe, Lunar would drop the witch and she demanded he acquire another woman to drain their life energy and help her regain her power. However, in her weakened state, she was in no position to control him. She thought he would have loyalty for her after so long, but she was wrong. It took mere moments before he thrusts his hand into her chest and gripped her soul, admitting he stayed around this long just for his freedom. This was his chance for freedom. Soon, he pulled out the black orb from her chest, showing her own corrupted soul to her. As she tried reaching for it, the life in her eyes faded and before she knew it, her body became a mere living husk of once it once was. It still lived, but no life resided inside it, only a shell to be guided by those who control it. He devoured her soul, savoring the malice in it, seeing he was now free. Seeing she had some use, he patched up the injuries and used the magic inside her to alter her appearance, making her no longer the cursed witch of the realm, but a soulless puppet in his control.


From there, he left with his newfound puppet. He intended to explore the newfound freedom and see what the new world had to offer him.


Weapons of choice:
In a more magic based realm, he can be seen wielding two pistols imbuned with magic energy, firing bursts of magical energy like bullets. Impact could damage one like a simple bullet could, but if it's imbuned with certain elements. (Will explain)

When it comes to close quarters, his weapon of choice is a pair of gauntlets equipped with blades used for cutting, slicing or stabbing ordained with cat-like ornaments.

Chain bullets: These bullets are imbuned with magical energy. Impact from these will cause a sturdy chain to wrap around the target and capture the target if they couldn't break free from the bullets.

Soul stealing: Once the being is in a weakened or defeated/dying state and their guard is down, Lunar can dive his hand into their body without harming the body itself, phasing it into the body and pull out the soul they carry within them.

Soul devouring: When acquiring a soul from a body, that soul can be devoured. This could heal the cat-sith, add to his own power. Each soul provides a different drawback. When pulling out a black soul, he knows the soul is corrupt. This could corrupt him as well, making him more feral and aggressive and corrupt himself. When pure white, it's innocent, making him nicer and caring. From there, a soul can appear many colors, based on the corruption rate and personality. They can result in different effects.

Multi-lingual: If he devours a corpse from another land, since the soul can adjust his behavior, it can also allow him to gather knowledge of that land, such as the soul's primary language or other languages they might speak.

Cat-like hearing: Due to his feline ears, his hearing becomes more sensitive and easier to listen in from larger distances or lower manners of speach, such as whispering.

Cat shifting: Can transform into a cat and transform back into his regular form. The cat form can change based on the soul he absorbs. May exhibit horns like a demon if he eats a corrupted soul.

Magic affinity:Has the affinity to use magic thanks to watching and studying witches and being born to use magic. However, most elements need a catalyst to use properly. (I.E.: Lighter for flame, tazer for electricity, water for well....water, etc. etc. etc.)
