Upon first glance, the one decked out in a lavish black and red dress might seem like a young goth priestess. But. Looks are deceiving. For Rory Mercury is an ancient apostle whom devotes her life to a dark god of war and conflict.
As a demi-god living in Sedera, Rory is tasked with upholding certain morals and conduct within those whom wish to do battle or declare war. Those who would wish to cause harm to others needlessly, or get corrupted in the fires of war will almost always answer to her halberd as a sacrifice to her master, Emroy. To those she slays in battle it is a punishment, while to her it is seen as "A blessing to sacrifice one's self so willingly." And as a Demi-God her powers are far more capable of mere men and mer. Her powers have granted her enhanced senses, reflexes, and durability, with being able to withstand even the most lethal of wounds, even bullets fired by mercenaries from Earth. But, her powers do have a limit. While most would almost certainly meet their end, Rory is weak and prone to other Demi-gods and the divine herself.
She might seem dark and even malevolent, however Rory's motives are capacious at best. While she serves Emroy in her own sadistic manner, she has often gone out of her way to be with mortal kind- much to her sister's disapproval. In one particular instance she becomes infatuated with the Japanese Self Defense Force, who, with their advanced modern day weaponry and technology seem to posses a great deal more empathy than other humans. She soon becomes completely moved by one Lieutenant in particular and agrees to help him on his quest to bring peace between both the Empire, and the people of Japan.
There are a few ways to describe Rory's personality. She is generally kind and endearing towards children, often protecting them and bestowing blessings- as their innocence knows no horrors of war. And to those normally around her, she portrays a kind personality~ except when her more mischievous side comes into play. When certain situations calls for more devious, yet generally harmless fun comes to mind, Rory's sense of humor can be hilariously dark, often playing pranks on her favorite lieutenant,which in turn might land him in hot water. But all that aside, her mood and personality changes dramatically when war or slaughter is nearby. Her darker tendencies begin to show, and her lust for battle grows with each death, until eventually she must join the fray~ usually to whichever has earned her favor. Or in some cases, she is the sole combatant against both or all warring parties.
