Rylee is a student who lives in Gotham and is a big fan of the Bat Family. Loving photography she would often sneak out at night to try and catch photos of Batman in action. She was dubbed Robin’s number one fan due to her strong interest in each Robin that worked with Batman.
While out trying to get picture of Batman she witnessed a crime and though her parents didn’t want her to get involved Commissioner Gordon convinced her to identify the criminal and testify. Despite her help the criminal wasn’t convicted and shortly after killed her family and left her badly wounded. Rylee was sent to Bludhaven for her own protection and Gordon promised if she were ever in Gotham again he would do anything to help her out and make up for the death of her family. Though Rylee said she didn’t blame Gordon or the police for their death she did begin to act out and became a trouble maker.
While out with a group of kids lifting parts off of cars she was arrested by Bludhaven police where she met Dick Grayson. Rylee quickly managed to figure out who he was by his mannerisms (after studying Robin for so many years) and decided to get in gear so that she could one day work beside him. This led to her leaving the foster home she was in and returning to Gotham where she requested Gordon adopt her. Gordon agreed in honor of his promise to her years earlier.
Rylee began fighting crime on her own and was one day caught by Barbara Gordon (Oracle) and due to her determination to fight crime Barbara trained her in secret to take on the Batgirl mantle. After gaining Barbara’s approval she designed a suite for herself and became her successor taking on the title Batgirl though she didn’t work with Batman and instead worked for Oracle. Because if this she has never officially met Batman though has assisted him a few times from the shadows.
Rylee’s goal is to be acknowledged by Batman some day and become apart of the Bat Family for real. She is smart and has figured out the Bat Family identity all on her own and despite Dick and Barbara’s relationship has a crush on him. She joined her school’s newspaper team and is their official photographer and interviewer. She often gets her great photos and scoops because of her Batgirl role but would one day like to work for a real newspaper and have her pictures printed everywhere.
Because her dad worked directly under Gordon it could be argued her families death wasn’t because she testified, but she still blames herself.

I think 'strength in numbers' only works out when you're a team, a cohesive unit. It's certainly why I work much better on my own. Sure it's dangerous and I'm more likely to die, but I'd hate to have people die on my watch as a leader. The media help the public's opinions. You can do all the good, and all the media have to do is pick out one detail, and suddenly you go from hero to public enemy number one! Gah! I'll always come out swinging though, like a blaze of glory!.. Or something?

The main roleplay certainly fleshes out everything between the two characters and builds a connection -- be it good, bad, nervy, or whatever. But that's how I am, if I see something I can be my character I will poke her in and ensue some webbed chaos, filled with nerves and being awkward.
Woah, that's pretty cool! Bats are usually in packs, with a goal in mind. So it's pretty neat seeing that you're taking the same goal as your uh... Family? But we both have the lives of people in mind with protecting them! I'm a bit of a good guy myself, or you know, I try to be, but public media do not take kindly to me doing what I can to save people. But someone's gotta risk their health and wellbeing to protect those who can't!

I'm always down for in character interactions through banter on stream and actual storylines. I'm one of those that I consider actual roleplays canon material for the characters, and stream banters sort of filling out and fleshing bonds.
