Ike appears to idolize his older brother. He has often tried to follow him to school as shown in "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe" and "Cancelled". He often copies the words Kyle has said, even obscenities, as shown in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. Conversely, one of the few examples of Ike getting angry at Kyle occurred when Kyle interrupted Ike's news program and changed the channel. Kyle has a superficial malice towards Ike, but in several episodes, most notably "Ike's Wee Wee," it's shown that Kyle does indeed love his brother. In "Miss Teacher Bangs a Boy", Ike was angry with Kyle because he tried to break up his relationship with the Kindergarten teacher. Furthermore, he is clearly heard saying, "You are dead to me, Kyle!"
Ike often tries to pronounce words, but fails. However, in the episode "Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina", he can say, "penis" and "vagina" quite clearly and in "Cancelled" he tells Kyle to "suck my balls". Despite his intelligence, Ike often replies to questions with random answers. Some of Ike's random statements are "cookie monster," "Ring Around the Rosie," "I pooped my pants," "I don't like medicine," and various nonsensical burbling. Statements like these tend to serve as catch-all phrases and non sequitur answers to questions Ike is asked. Even in a heated argument with Kyle in "Miss Teacher Bangs a Boy," Ike can clearly be heard saying, "Ring Around the Rosie!" in an angry tone.

What can I say about him? He saved me when I didn't think anyone could. I was broken and felt abandoned and pretty much not needed; however, he shows up and makes everything melt away. I have to admit. When we met, I didn't like him at first. We were playing a game of truth or dare and he was dared to kiss me, in which he states
"try not to fall for me."
I didn't know what to say, so I told him I wouldn't. I helped him out with his deliveries and got him out of binds before, and we have become closer and closer with each passing day. I got curious so I asked him to well, help me decide rather or not I liked guys. In which he complied, and to my dismay.....it was good. I liked it, I even wanted more and what was even stranger was. I wanted it from him and only him, I felt stupid and a little crazy.
When I found out he felt the same way for me that I did for him, I felt as if there was a sense of relief and yet. I was scared I was afraid that I was falling into a loss again. I have loved before, and they left me. I didn't want to go through that again, and he was feeling the same way. We decided that we will try together, and ever since that day.....we were inseparable.

Ike's original birth name was Peter Gintz. He was put up for adoption by his Canadian parents, Harry and Elise, after Canada had been 'devastated by the cola wars'. Although Kyle initially rejected Ike upon finding out that he was adopted, Ike idolizes his brother and Kyle watches out for him. In a recurring gag during some earlier season episodes, Kyle would exclaim "Kick the Baby!" and proceed to punt Ike like a football (but not before Ike had time to say "Don't kick the (goddamn) baby!").
It is revealed in season four that Ike is a genius and is sent to kindergarten a year early. At age 3, he composes sheet music, reads John Steinbeck novels, and watches The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer every night. On his first day at school, he ran for class president and won, and at Jewbilee camp, he recreates Leonardo da Vinci's the Last Supper using macaroni. He was involved in Barack Obama and John McCain's plans to steal the Hope Diamond in "About Last Night..."
Throughout the show's run, Ike's dialogue has consisted of sound bites provided by various small children of the show's production staff. Despite Ike being a genius, his dialogue mostly consists of toddler-like, nonsensical babble, such as "I pooped my pants" or "ring around a rosy". Later season episodes depict him as speaking more coherently. His body was temporarily taken over by the spirit of Michael Jackson in the episode "Dead Celebrities". In the episode "Canada on Strike" he stands out in the cold for days waiting for the strike to end. He embarked on a sexual relationship with his adult kindergarten teacher in the episode "Miss Teacher Bangs a Boy", which gives him admiration and envy from nearly every person in town who finds out about it other than Kyle.
In the fifteenth season episode "Royal Pudding", Ike stays home from school to watch the Canadian Royal Wedding on live television. When the princess is kidnapped, Ike starts crying. He eventually goes to Canada to help rescue the princess, and is knighted when he saves her.
In the seventeenth season episode "Taming Strange", Ike (voiced by Eric Bauza who was credited as True List), experiencing precocious puberty due to accidentally taking steroids intended for Tom Brady, becomes hostile towards Kyle, and has developed habits that include speaking of engaging in sex acts with child entertainment characters from television series such as Yo Gabba Gabba!, which Ike likes to refer to as "taming strange". The brothers eventually reconcile when Ike, after realizing that while rebellion is part of growing up, decides he would rather let it happen naturally instead of pushing it.

Present day, Ike is a middle school teenager on the football team. He is the the star player and quarterback, and very athletic. He wakes up early mornings to do runs, and tries to stay fit. He however has dark secrets, and many have to do with drugs. He has been trying to keep himself clean and away from them, and has been successful for the most part.
This all played a role on Ruby, who was Ike's girlfriend at the time. He used his contact and his connections to help her out of her dilemma and many other things. They have been inseparable ever since she came back to South Park, and Ike had nothing else on his mind but her. He was willing to stay with her till the very end, he even fought with his mother over staying with Ruby.
However, things took a toll for the worst. One day Ike went to her house, and she was gone. There was no word, no good bye, no anything. She just left town and never came back. Ike was heart broken and because of the high stress he had turned back to his drug addiction. No one knows his dark past, not even his own brother. He hides it most of the time, and places a smile on his face and never looks like he has any worries at all.
Deep down inside, he is screaming and crying and miserable. He just never lets anyone close enough to see the real him. He doesn't think he would let anyone that close ever again. Until that day, he still goes on with his daily routines, and sports. He continues to be the popular kid in school, and pretty much the star student.
