Attack! Origins.

Nancy Archer was in an unhappy marriage.  Her cheating husband was using her for her money and plotting with his mistress to murder her.  Nancy was always afraid to stand up for herself and was, overall, very shy.  After yet another fight with her husband, Nancy jumped in her car and went for a long drive.  It was far from town, on a remote Nevada highway, when a giant spaceship appeared.  A beam from the craft bathed Nancy in green light and she lost consciousness. 

Upon waking up, the young heiress found herself at home.  It must have been a bad dream.  Over breakfast, her husband picked another fight with her.  Any excuse to leave the house and visit his girlfriend, after all.  Angry, more angry than she ever was before, Nancy shouted at him.  She slammed her fists on the table.  The table shook, far more than it ought to at delicate Nancy's hands.  Then she felt it.  A power swelled within her, threatening to consume her.  It filled every fiber of her being until she was certain she would explode.  And then she did, in a manner of speaking.  Her body expanded; larger and taller.  Her clothing ripped under her expanding frame.  It only stopped when her head crashed through the ceiling into the second story of her house.  The shock from her sudden growth spurt caused Nancy to pass out.

Waking up, Nancy found her husband and a trusted family doctor.  She overheard them talking.  Something about her heart possibly giving out from the stress.  Little did Nancy know, an idea was hatched in her husband's mind.  He would cause her to get angrier and hopefully have a heart attack.  If only she had known!  Maybe she would have squashed him right then and there.  The doctor uttered a warning to keep her calm while he ran some tests, then he left.  Sitting up, Nancy unintentionally shredded still more of her poor house.  Her husband, now intending to cause her death, began screaming at Nancy.  "What are you doing?!  You're destroying the house!  What kind of monster are you?!"  He began belittling her (ironically), calling her stupid and careless.  At first, Nancy began to cry.  But then she became angry. 

The angrier she got, Nancy's already enlarged frame began to swell.  Her husband ran from the house as it crumbled around the much, much larger Nancy.  Standing up, Nancy stretched out her full height.  Strangely, she wasn't all that angry anymore.  She felt...powerful.  And a little lightheaded.  Her husband ran for the car as Nancy stepped out of the ruins of her home.  Staggering towards him, she planned to tell her husband just what she was feeling.  The little car roared to life and took off.  And the colossal Nancy followed behind him.  Her husband managed to reach town before Nancy.  He jumped from the car just as she picked it up.  Angry, Nancy crushed the car like a can.  The little man scurried into his mistress's nearby bar.  On her hands and knees, Nancy reached in after him.  The building crumbled under her wrath.  Grabbing him, she stood up and began to berate him for a change.  "How dare you!  I know what you've been doing all this time!"

Unfortunately for Nancy, someone must have called the military.  A small army rolled down Main Street with tanks to face the monster woman.  Their weapons didn't hurt, of course.  But she needed some one-on-one time with her husband.  Deep in the desert with the military on her heels, Nancy vented her anger with her husband, but not exactly sure what she would do with him.  So focused was she, the giant Nancy did not notice the string of powerlines.  Shocked, Nancy dropped her lousy husband and fell to the ground.  With the military practically on top of her, Nancy found herself in a bit of a tight spot.  But then, all a once, a familiar green light filled the night sky.  Nancy was lifted from the ground into the spaceship.
