[RP Advice] Excuses Are No Excuse (Just Write It)

I’m making this segment as an eye-opener, because I just realized it’s still a problem even today.

Have you ever had those partners that claim they’re not good at making stories, yet write in the most fine details? or those partners that give the “I’m not good at making starters” and throw you the pen to make you write one? I think we all have at some point. In my experience, these writers are just making excuses as to why they wanna evaluate you for themselves. These are common excuses for hiding their true skills. There are many I have encountered who have used these excuses just to make me be the one to write the starters.

In my opinion? it’s best to encourage them rather than call them out on their excuses. Encourage them to share their work, encourage them to practice writing. Because if you let them persuade you to do all the work, you’re just bending for someone that’s clearly skilled while they’re judging you. Don’t let them get to you, show these people that you want to see their writing. Give them an outlet to start a story with you, because if you can get past the excuse? you’ve done a good deed for RPers everywhere.

Whether you think you’re not good at something, practice. Practicing helps you improve your skills, because if you just sit around and do nothing but wait, how are you supposed to learn and improve? you can’t. Do yourselves a favor, stop making excuses, stop being lazy. I know many of you are fantastic writers just waiting for your full potential to unlock.

Take it from me, guys, we all began somewhere. Over time we’ve all improved at some point, and over time we’ve peaked and blossomed when we least expected it. 

No more excuses now, let your imagination create your story!
