CMC-300 Powered Combat Suit: The much improved successor to the CMC-200. It was already in service by 2478 and was standard issue to marines during the Great War. The CMC-300 weighs several hundred pounds and adds a foot to the wearer's height. Old Confederate-era CMC-300's continue to be issued to some Dominion garrisons after the Brood War.
The suit is powered by cold fusion cartridges that are inserted into the suit's chest. These reactors have an operational failure rate of less than 0.5% in the field, a figure so impressive that it's regularly attributed to divine providence. The suit's motors are also located in the chest, powering the servos that allow for the suit's enhanced movement. Many marines noted that this armor would be significantly more comfortable compared to their later counterparts.
The upper back section of the suit houses a series of rubber tubes. These run through the jointed areas of the suit, protecting wires and distributing coolant. These tubes make up the bulk of an efficient liquid cooling system, assisted by a twin set of high-speed turbines. These "afterburners," as they are commonly known, vent the heat generated by the suit's power supply, and the temperature buildup in harsh atmospheric conditions. Segmented plates support the arm joints and spine. Control of the suit is done through an operator interface within the gauntlets. The user's hand is located between the suit's wrist and fingers. While the user's fingers do not slip into the suit's fingers, a haptic feedback system ensures precise control (in theory). The suit's visor is made of a clear, durable material named plexithene.
C-14 Impaler: The gauss rifle is a terran standard issue marine weapon of the Confederate and Dominion Marine Corps. It is very common in the Koprulu sector. It utilizes gauss-assisted technology to accelerate ferromagnetic projectiles at hypersonic speed through a process of magnetic induction.
In use by 2478, the C-14 usually fires hypersonic 8 mm armor-piercing metal "spikes" which can penetrate up to two inches of steel plating. The rounds themselves are encased in steel. While the rifle is gauss-assisted, it still utilizes traditional means to firing projectiles such as gunpowder, which is known to cause issues with the rifle when the ammunition becomes wet. The magnetic induction that gives the gauss rifle its name is achieved via a magnetic accelerator pack within the gun.
The Impaler is fully automatic with a fire rate of 30 rounds per second, although fully automatic fire is discouraged under most circumstances. A capacitor system is used to fire the weapon in short bursts, conserving ammunition and minimizing power requirements. Due to this, the C-14 rifle has high recoil; CMC armor is designed to suppress this. The armor can also supplement the rifle's power supply.

Tychus Findlay is a big man with a big ego and even bigger gun. Fortunately enough, his loyalty is easily won. Buy him a whiskey or three and promise him enough credits, and there's no job in the whole universe too dangerous for this outlaw.
Findlay's true personality is a matter of debateโsome describe Findlay as a scoundrel who would sell his own mother to the Kimeran Pirates for the right sum while others see him as a loyal soldier who risked his life for fellow marines in the Guild Wars. Not even Jim Raynor can say for sure, though believed Findlay to have a "heart of gold" due to several friendly gestures Findlay made during the Guild Wars. He has shown xenophobic tendencies and wasn't afraid to speak his mind. Possessing a large ego, and loving nothing more than getting into a fight, he relished combat and was very enthusiastic about piloting the Odin, joyfully unleashing its power on the Dominion. He had an unsubtle combat style, and was known for bearing large firearms; the chain gun was his weapon of choice. In spite of his brutish appearance, Tychus was deceptively intelligent and resourceful, even in hectic situations.
While he was an adamant user of tobacco and alcohol, Tychus eschewed harder drugs, not wanting to be beholden to "anything or anyone." Tychus had a talent for reading people, a skill that made him an excellent poker player.
Findlay massed 165 kilograms (363 pounds). On the knuckles of his left hand there was a tattoo of the word "PAIN", as well as a snake around a cross above his index finger. Additionally, he had a scar across his stomach, as well as a tattoo on his back and shoulders which is believed to say "HEAVEN'S DEVILS". His shoulders were nearly 40 inches across. He has received genetic and cybernetic enhancements.
Findlay's skin turned pale during his incarceration in New Folsom, due to being cut off from sunlight. When he was released, a scar ran across his belly, apparently self-inflicted.
