✩Khai Daichapanya Lia met Khai one day while investigating the warehouse where her husband "died". As it would turn out, the warehouse belonged to Khai and his organization, which is part of Thai organized crime. As she continues to come around the warehouse, even despite his warnings, he slowly develops a soft spot for her and her family, making sure that they have everything that they need. Eventually, it'll come to light that her husband isn't really dead and Khai is the one that saved his life in order to turn him against his own people and have him work for Khai. We'll see how Lia handles that one.
✩Marlie Bellhouse Marlie and Lia have been best friends for years, though neither is sure when they met or how they became friends. However, after both are in a car crash, they find that nobody in their lives knows anything about the other, so both begin to think that they are crazy for a while. Until one day, Lia walks into Marlie's coffee shop with her sister, Octavia, and both are forced to confront that "craziness" and their relationship head-on.
✩Octavia Quinn Octavia is Lia's older half-sister, though they were raised like twins. The two of them were always close growing up, simply because Ophelia just accepted Octavia for the wild child that she was and loved her endlessly anyway. When Becks storms out, Lia follows her and has to help her through a PTSD episode, thus creating their sistership.

She'd known Wesley and had come to pay her respects and the two had become pretty good friends. Have you ever seen the show Maury? That's the best way to describe the mess that occurred in the months before Ophelia Nolan’s birth; they all just needed to go on Maury. But, we’re getting ahead of ourselves just a little bit. This story starts a couple years earlier, with a girl and a boy. Gabriel Nolan was a musician who was touring in the area when he met a young Odessa Matthews. It was never supposed to be forever; in fact, Gabriel’s plan had originally been a short fling while he played shows in town. However, their attraction was more than either of them bargained for, so she came with him on tour for a short time. Within a few months, however, she got the surprise of her life when she discovered that she was pregnant with their first child.
It's important to realize that Odessa knew her boything (she wasn't even sure she could call him her boyfriend, for Christ sake) wasn't interested in anything long-term, especially a child. So she was incredibly hesitant to tell him, but she did it. Gabriel wasn't a bad guy, really - he just wasn't interested in a commitment, especially not a girl he barely knew. But, he knew he had a responsibility to stick around for the child he’d helped create, so the two compromised. They made Boston their home, with Gabriel and his band still touring locally. They had their first child, who they named Osiris Eli. For a few months, they were happy. However, by the following summer, Gabriel was getting antsy, completely unhappy in his life. It was during this time that he got close to Odessa’s former best friend, a woman named Willa Montgomery.
Gabriel slept with Willa at least once that summer, because she ended up pregnant. She withheld that information for several months, but Odessa figured it out that fall. She demanded to know who the father was, because she already had her suspicions. When Willa told her, she was barely shocked. What nobody knew, though, is that she’d also found out she was pregnant within the last little bit. Still, that didn't matter to her. She returned to the father of her children and told him to pack his sh*t and get out of their lives. She knew they’d be better without him. He tried to put up a small fight, but they all knew that he was ready to get the hell out of dodge. Odessa started out that next year without a baby daddy and without a best friend.
In April, that changed. She was called to the hospital when Willa went into labor. Willa didn't have anyone else, and she didn't want to be alone. After her daughter was born, though, she begged Odessa to take her. Willa didn't want children, she knew that, but Odessa had always wanted a family. Odessa officially adopted the small baby, naming her Octavia Elise. Yeah, she seemingly had a thing for mythology and history. That would become only increasingly apparent when she had her last child, Ophelia Emilie, in July of that same year. However, she didn't tell the girls that they were half-sisters. Instead, she picked a date directly in between their birthdays, May 31st, as their birthday and raised them to believe that they were twin sisters.
Raising three small children at the same time was not an easy feat, but Odessa managed it. Growing up, the three of them were all different in their own ways. Ophelia, who mostly went by Lia, was always the quiet one, the responsible one, while Octavia ran a little wild most of the time. Osiris, who they mostly called Ozzy, was a good mix between the two of them. Being so close in age, though, the three were always closer than close.
Their lives changed when their mother met Alexander Greyson, who would turn out to be Odessa’s freakin’ soulmate. He fell in love with her and with her children, whom he adopted as his own, changing their names from Nolan to Greyson, same as his. He was the only father figure they’d ever really known and he was good to their family, so that was more than enough for each of them. Their lives got better after that, though Octavia was still the wildest one of the bunch, for sure.
In high school, Ophelia shined. She was a cheerleader and a straight-A student, not to mention involved in student government in her later years. The girls were seventeen when things changed again, with Octavia running off and leaving the family behind for some guy that she’d met and married. Lia was devastated at the loss of her other half, but she tried to reach out. Her parents left her phone on and message after message went unanswered, mostly. Octavia let people know she was fine and happy, but otherwise, she mostly disappeared from the Greysons’ lives. Ophelia made prom queen that year and graduated with honors, though the loss of her sister still hurt something fierce.
Lia, who had always wanted to move to New York City, did exactly that when she went off to college. She’d gotten accepted to NYU, where she attended for four years and would later get her bachelor’s in business. It was during that time that she met the man she would later marry, though. Wesley Parker was something else, that was for sure. He was charismatic and lighthearted, with a sense of humor that rivaled anything she’d ever seen. She met him that year on the Fourth of July, at a party a friend of hers had thrown. He was a few years older than her, since she was still only a sophomore and he’d recently graduated. He kissed her when the fireworks went off that night and she fell in love.
Lia and Wesley continued to see one another for the following few months. They’d been seeing one another around 5 months when she found out towards the end of January the following year that she was pregnant. Terrified that she’d gotten herself into the same situation her mother had once been in, she avoided him for a few weeks before he finally showed up at her door. She explained why she was avoiding him and he told her he loved her, and whatever baby she carried of his. He told her that if he wasn't afraid she’d think he was only doing it for the baby, he’d propose then and there. She told him that wasn't necessary, but she was happy that she wasn't alone in this new life that she was about to begin.
She had her son, Easton Alexander, shortly after she turned twenty-one, at the end of August. She also managed to graduate from NYU the following May, though Wesley told her she was wonder woman. She told him he was ridiculous, but still. He encouraged her to follow her dreams after that, and she did. She opened Mad Batter, her bakery, at twenty-two. The duo were living in Brooklyn at the time, where they’d settled following the birth of their son. They raised him together, supported one another, and had an all-around good marriage and life together for a few years.
Towards the end of 2017, however, their life together was beginning to crumble. Wesley had gotten distant from her, coming home later and later at night with barely a few words to her while he was at home. She was scared. By January, she’d reached her breaking point. She asked him point blank if he was cheating, and he let her believe that he was. On Valentine’s Day, though, she was feeling lonely and sad and she spent the night with him. She promised herself it was a goodbye, but she couldn't have imagined how final that goodbye was. A few days later, a couple of men showed up at her door to tell her that her husband had died in the line of duty.
At first, she was incredibly confused, because from what she knew he worked in construction. But no, the man she’d known had been deep undercover almost since she’d met him. He’d finally cracked the case, they told her, but he’d been killed in the raid on the compound. Lia was devastated at first. Not only was she pretty sure he hadn't been cheating, like she’d originally thought, but she wasn't even sure she’d ever truly known the man she’d married. That was almost worse for her, really. She wasn't - still isn’t - even sure his last name was Martin, just that that was the role he’d been playing when she met him.
As his wife, she went on to have a funeral for him. It was only a few months later that she figured out that she was pregnant again, after the morning sickness started. Nine months later, she had a daughter, whom she named Kaia Elaine. She moved from their Brooklyn home out to Queens, making sure she could still commute easily to her bakery. She threw herself into raising her two children and to working, and that seemed to be going fine for her until her sister showed back up in New York.
Octavia has been gone for a decade when she reappeared, at the grocery store in Queens of all freakin’ places. But, Lia took her and her unborn child in as soon as she could, even despite the strain on their relationship. They're still working on it, still trying to learn to live together. She even came bearing the news that they aren't truly twins, but half-sisters. Lia is still grappling with all the ways her life has changed over the last few years. She isn’t sure she’ll ever get over Wesley’s death, either, but she’s trying hard to move on with her life. When she starts randomly seeing him on the streets of New York, though, she might start thinking she’s crazy. We’ll see.
